At this time, undocumented and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) students do not qualify for in-state tuition at public colleges, universities and community colleges in Tennessee. While they are able to enroll in public colleges and universities, they must pay out-of-state tuition which is often three times the price of in-state tuition.

Private institutions offer one rate for all students, and some are able to provide some institutional financial aid for undocumented and DACA students.

The map below shows private institutions across the state of Tennessee that provide institutional financial aid support for students who are undocumented or have received DACA. Please note that while there are institutions that provide financial support, these only cover a share of the cost to attend. Undocumented and DACA students must still seek private scholarships to cover their remaining need.
