Fam­i­ly Engage­ment Uni­ver­si­ty (FEU) is a a pro­gram of Metro Nashville Pub­lic Schools’ Depart­ment of Fam­i­ly and Com­mu­ni­ty Part­ner­ships, and Build­ing Bridges, a pro­gram of the Oasis Cen­ter, will ele­vate the need for poli­cies that advance teacher qual­i­ty through train­ings and prepa­ra­tion around diver­si­ty, iden­ti­ty, priv­i­lege, and equi­ty for all stu­dents.

They will advance their agen­da by ele­vat­ing stu­dent voice, offer­ing work­shops, and con­ven­ing stake­hold­er meet­ings and forums on issues of teacher train­ing and cul­tur­al com­pe­ten­cy. Their goal is to advo­cate at the state and local lev­el for the incor­po­ra­tion of the­se crit­i­cal teacher com­pe­ten­cies into pre-ser­vice pro­grams and teacher licen­sure and eval­u­a­tion.
