Join us for an ESSA deep-dive. Learn about the Ten­nessee ESSA plan and what it will mean for stu­dents, schools and com­mu­ni­ties across the state. Our ESSA Boot­camps are full-day ses­sions at loca­tions across the state. You can also join our month­ly webi­nar con­ver­sa­tion on key com­po­nents of Tennessee’s ESSA plan. There is no cost to attend the­se events, how­ev­er, we do ask that you reg­is­ter for each event so that we can plan accord­ing­ly.

    Ses­sion 6 of our Ten­nessee ESSA Plan Webi­nar Series will focus on how the state will mon­i­tor and address school improve­ment in the low­est per­form­ing schools in the state. We will review the new School Improve­ment Con­tin­u­um and learn about the expec­ta­tions and guid­ance that schools will receive from the state and their local dis­tricts. Atten­dees will learn how to get involved at the local lev­el to sup­port schools in need of improve­ment.

    You are an expert, but do you see your­self that way? Join us to learn how to max­i­mize your influ­ence and voice in the edu­ca­tion move­ment. We invite you to reg­is­ter for a 1.5 hour train­ing by the Op-Ed Project on Novem­ber 27th at 6:30 p.m. We will offer din­ner and an inter­ac­tive expe­ri­ence enti­tled Own­ing Exper­tise. You’ll learn about the cur­rent data on the demo­graph­ics of pub­lic dis­course (who is telling your community’s sto­ry?), and learn how to address core ques­tions of thought lead­er­ship: what do we know, why does it mat­ter, and how can we max­i­mum our impact? Par­tic­i­pants will walk away with bold ideas and a deep­er under­stand­ing of how to become a thought lead­er in their field.

We will exam­ine what key changes the plan lays out and what role fam­i­ly and com­mu­ni­ty engage­ment play in ensur­ing school suc­cess in this new era of account­abil­i­ty.

    Are you ready to take the next step and help your com­mu­ni­ty, team or net­work under­stand the Ten­nessee ESSA Plan, what it says and what is com­ing next? We are host­ing a half-day Train-the-Train­er for advo­cates who are inter­est­ed in review­ing the ESSA plan and how to share its key ele­ments and levers for change for stu­dents. Atten­dees will leave equipped to share the plan with their net­works and com­mu­ni­ties. There is no charge to attend the event and mate­ri­als and break­fast will be pro­vid­ed.
