The fol­low­ing resources have been pre­pared by Conex­ión Améri­c­as for edu­ca­tors who want to learn about work­ing with undoc­u­ment­ed and DACA stu­dents that are inter­est­ed in pur­su­ing high­er edu­ca­tion.

There are three resources for edu­ca­tors here:

  1. The first resource guide cov­ers impor­tant terms to know, high­er edu­ca­tion options for stu­dents in Ten­nessee, along with state and nation­al resources for undoc­u­ment­ed and DACA stu­dents.
  2. Below the guide is a one-pager on Deferred Action for Child­hood Arrivals (DACA), which is leg­isla­tive action that allows cer­tain undoc­u­ment­ed indi­vid­u­als to qual­i­fy for a two-year work per­mit and relief from depor­ta­tion.   3. The final resource is a guide for edu­ca­tors on work­ing with immi­grant and refugee chil­dren put forth by the Amer­i­can Fed­er­a­tion of Teach­ers.
