The following resources have been prepared by Conexión Américas for educators who want to learn about working with undocumented and DACA students that are interested in pursuing higher education.
There are three resources for educators here:
- The first resource guide covers important terms to know, higher education options for students in Tennessee, along with state and national resources for undocumented and DACA students.
- Below the guide is a one-pager on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which is legislative action that allows certain undocumented individuals to qualify for a two-year work permit and relief from deportation. For a Spanish version of the document please visit the Families page.
- The final resource is a guide for educators on working with immigrant and refugee children put forth by the American Federation of Teachers.
