  • Last week….
    • On Tues­day, a House sub­com­mit­tee passed the “Edu­ca­tion Sav­ings Accounts Act” to full Edu­ca­tion Com­mit­tee. The act comes in the form of an amend­ment to HB 939. Click here to access the full amend­ment.
    • On Wednes­day, both the House and Sen­ate Edu­ca­tion com­mit­tees passed a bill that would estab­lish a com­mis­sion for char­ter school autho­riza­tion (HB 940 / SB 796). Click here to access the full lan­guage of the bill.
  • This week…
    • The spot­light is on the ESA/voucher bill that will be heard before the full House Edu­ca­tion Com­mit­tee on Wednes­day morn­ing.
    • Some oth­er bills we’re track­ing that will be up in com­mit­tee include ones on alter­na­tive edu­ca­tion for stu­dents who have been expelled, a report on high­er edu­ca­tion oppor­tu­ni­ties for incar­cer­at­ed peo­ple, and in-ser­vice train­ing in restora­tive jus­tice dis­ci­pline prac­tices for LEA employ­ees.
