Last week… Governor Lee gave his State of the State address, presenting his budget proposal to the General Assembly. Highlights included his education, criminal justice, and health care priorities. Committees passed the administration’s bills on increasing the number of CTE dual enrollment courses (GIVE Act) and funding school safety. We’ll see more of the governor’s bills making their way through committee in upcoming weeks.
This week…Bills being heard in committee this week include requiring a report on higher education for incarcerated individuals, establishing an office for apprenticeship and work-study programs, reporting on instructional salaries and wages, and career aptitude assessments for students.
