Last week… The House and Senate Education Committees heard a handful of bills including ones concerning charter schools identified as priority schools, the use of student growth data to benefit teachers, and increasing the middle college scholarship. Expect to see these bills on the House and Senate floors soon. Education Subcommittees heard bills on topics including the updating of special education laws, early learning programs, and LEA funding regarding certain mental health facilities.
This week… The education committees will hear bills regarding changes to dual enrollment grant programs, postsecondary readiness exams, teacher evaluations, funding programs that address school safety, alternative graduation pathways, and more.
