HB 2315 What Education Advocates Need to Know

On Monday May 21st, Governor Haslam allowed a harsh anti-immigrant bill to become law without his signature. This measure, now known as public charter 973, allows for law enforcement to carry out federal immigration enforcement. Under this law, law enforcement includes School Resource officers (SROs) at public schools, and campus police at colleges and universities. Schools should be places of safety and learning for all students. Our team will work to provide you with updates of what implementation of this law will mean in schools, and what you can do to help protect immigrant families.
