Tennessee received high marks recently from a study conducted by researchers at Harvard University and EducationNext. Tennessee received an “F” by the same researchers in 2009, prompting swift and decisive action on raising our standards for student learning. This year Tennessee scored an “A”, with researchers noting the alignment of our standards and expectations of proficiency with those set by NAEP. Our state also received praise from Achieve, in a recent report that highlighted our alignment of our state assessment with NAEP and national norms for student achievement.
