Bright Spot: Tennessee Earns High Marks from Harvard Study

Ten­nessee received high marks recent­ly from a study con­duct­ed by researchers at Har­vard Uni­ver­si­ty and Edu­ca­tion­Next. Ten­nessee received an “F” by the same researchers in 2009, prompt­ing swift and deci­sive action on rais­ing our stan­dards for stu­dent learn­ing. This year Ten­nessee scored an “A”, with researchers not­ing the align­ment of our stan­dards and expec­ta­tions of pro­fi­cien­cy with those set by NAEP. Our state also received praise from Achieve, in a recent report that high­light­ed our align­ment of our state assess­ment with NAEP and nation­al norms for stu­dent achieve­ment.
