Learn more about the Tennessee Educational Equity Coalition

The Tennessee Educational Equity Coalition was formed in the spring of 2016 to harness the collective influence and voices of a diverse group of civil rights and education advocacy organizations across the state. Our goal is to build a shared advocacy agenda that will address the chronic disparities in achievement and opportunities for students of color across the state. 2016 Policy Agenda

As the number of students of color in Tennessee public schools continues to grow, policymakers must pay special attention to the unique set of challenges and opportunities many of these students face. The Tennessee Educational Equity Coalition holds a unique position to advocate for such students since it represents a diverse group of community members, parents, educators, and other education advocates across the state.

We are pleased to introduce the members of our inaugural Tennessee Educational Equity Coalition Steering Committee. They represent a diverse set of communities from across the state, and bring exceptional expertise and talents. Together we will cast a vision for our Equity Coalition and how it can best serve students and families of color across our state. They will play in important role in our conversations with the Tennessee Department Continue reading “Steering Committee”
